This performance is a prime example of what people today think Dixieland sounds like. It is lively with tight collective improvisations and fast interactions between the soloists. The rhythm section is hard driving with a clear 2/4 jazz beat. The double-time technique Bechet was known for is evident throughout this performance. Notice how so much happens in this very short song. The activity is constantly passed around and the texture is constantly changing.
